Administration Department

The Village Administrator serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the municipal corporation. The administrator leads, plans, organizes, and directs the administration of the Village of Waunakee toward the fulfillment of goals and policies determined by the Village Board.

Building Inspection

The Village of Waunakee contracts with General Engineering Company for building inspection services. All payments and pick-up of permits can be done during normal Village Hall hours.

Clerk's Department

The Village Clerk's office is responsible for Animal Licensing Information, Elections, Licenses & Permits, Property Assessments, and Records Requests. The Clerk's department preserves village records, provides information, and performs other duties as prescribed by state law and local ordinances.

Community Development

The Community and Economic Development Department oversees the building inspection, Planning and Zoning, and Economic Development operations for the village.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Waunakee Area EMS is a highly trained and dedicated emergency medical service providing 911 medical care to over 20,000 citizens in the Village of Waunakee, Village of Dane, Town of Westport, Town of Dane, and portions of the Town of Vienna and the Town of Springfield.

Engineering

The Engineering Department is responsible for the supervision and management of all construction and development within the village. The Village Engineer oversees the construction of village improvements, as well as the maintenance of existing infrastructure.

Finance

The Finance Department is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of all village operations and is entrusted with collecting, depositing, and investing all village funds. This includes; accounts payable, billing and collections, investment and cast management, maintenance of all financial records, payroll for all village government fund employees, and property tax collection.

Human Resources

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for organizing, executing, and following programs for employees of the Village of Waunakee. Including: compensation & benefits, employee relations, labor relations, policies & compliance, recruitment, retention, training & development. 

Library

The Waunakee Public Library offers both books and programming for both youth and adults.

Municipal Court

The Waunakee Municipal Court handles all traffic and ordinance violations. 

Parks & Recreation

The Parks and Recreation page provides information on the Community Services Department and the Parks Department.

Planning & Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Department can provide you with information about building and zoning application materials, comprehensive master plans, development processes, meeting schedules, zoning maps, and answers to specific zoning questions.

Police Department

The Waunakee Police Department provides 24 hours a day protection. The department provides many community policing programs including; national night out, bicycle rodeo, citizen's academy, shop with a cop, and white-collar crime symposiums.

Public Works 

The Public Works Department helps maintain village infrastructure and facilities. A sample of department responsibilities includes: maintaining signage, snow removal/winter rules and regulations, specialized refuse and recycling programs, stormwater management, and street repair and maintenance.

Senior Services

The Senior Center's purpose is to help older adults remain independent in their own homes and in their communities by supporting them intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.

Village Center

The Village Center offers a wide range of facilities and programs for the whole family. Join the fitness center, participate in a variety of youth and adult programs, or check out the senior center.

Waunakee Utilities is a locally owned and operated electric, water, and wastewater utility, serving more than 4,000 customers in and around the Village of Waunakee
