To provide the village with a more efficient, effective, and responsible government under a government system of a part-time Village President and Village Board, there is created the office of Village Administrator.
The Village Administrator shall be appointed by and responsible to the board upon such terms and conditions, and for such compensation, as prescribed by the board. The Village Administrator may also be appointed as clerk, treasurer, or both, pursuant to sections 2-171 and 2-185. The Village Administrator shall serve for an indefinite term.
The village administrator serves as the chief administrative officer of the municipal corporation. The administrator leads, plans, organizes, and directs the administration of the Village of Waunakee toward fulfillment of goals and policies determined by the Village Board.
The administrator assists the board by facilitating the establishment of goals and proposing alternative strategies for their accomplishment. The administrator directs the use of human and fiscal resources toward accomplishment of village goals and apprises the Board of Trustees regarding results.
